The Labrador (or Lab for short) is considered the most popular breed of dog (by registered ownership) in the world. It is also the most popular breed of assistance dog in the United States and many other countries, as well as being widely used by police for their detection and working abilities. They're often seen working with the rescue team members and as guide dogs for the disabled as well.

They are exceptionally affable, gentle, intelligent, energetic and good natured, making them both excellent companions and working dogs. Different Temperaments

An Occasional Shedder

The Lab sheds occasionally and may leave fuzzy patches.  You should brush your dog several times a week, use a hound glove to keep the coat shiny, and a fine-tooth flea comb to remove dirt and excess hair. You don't have to brush a Lab after bathing since its hair type is self-managed easily.  A Lab will have to be checked for ticks and fleas after it goes outside and you will find yourself performing some Lab caused house maintenance regularly.
